Biography[]

Early Career[]

From September 2019, Tanaka Yuya participated in the popular reality competition show, Produce 101 Japan, under his real name. Prior to the airing of its first episode on September 29th, he, alongside the 100 other contestants, was included on the digital single, Tsukame (It's Coming) which was released on September 2nd and acted as the show's theme song. Tanaka was ultimately eliminated from the programme in its 5th episode, after ranking in #68.

Almost a year after his involvement with Produce 101, Tanaka was announced as a member of THE SAVAGE on September 17th, alongside fellow competitor on the show, Nishino Tomoya. Their debut single, SunLight Yellow, was released on September 30th, and their debut EP, SunLight Yellow(YAVAGE Edition), the following month.

2022[]

On February 18th, Tanaka Yuya was revealed as a participant in the WACK Men's Joint Audition, under the name, "Nag Rajun". This initially caused confusion amongst fans, as there had been no official announcement of his withdrawal from THE SAVAGE, and he continued to be active with them even after his audition involvement was announced. To add further curiosity, his main twitter account had removed any reference to his involvement with the group, and one of his official profile photos with THE SAVAGE was also used as his official WACK audition profile image. It was eventually confirmed that THE SAVAGE were not tied to an agency, and thus, Yuya was free to participate in the audition without consequences.

The WACK Men's Joint Audition camp began on February 22nd. During the audition, he continued to promote with THE SAVAGE via pre-recorded footage. While he was able to stay through the entirety of the camp, he was ultimately not selected to join a group.

THE SAVAGE disbanded on May 31st.

On October 15th, Tanaka Yuya announced that he had joined the dance and vocal unit, A/TIMΣ (who later changed their name to A/TIME). As part of A/TIMΣ, he'd be performing under the stage name, "YUYA".

2023-2024[]

YUYA's debut release as part of A/TIMΣ, A/SUMMER, was released on June 8th, 2023.

His debut EP with A/TIME, SIGMA, will be released some time in 2024, having been announced during their first oneman live in December.
