Yamashita Umi (山下うみ), also known as Hashimitsu Umi (八光うみ), UMI, and Miura Umi (三浦うみ) is a Japanese idol. She is a founding member of idol group log you.
Umi was also a founding member of PIGGS from its formation until April 2021, and afterwards, a member of HO6LA until its disbandment in September 2022. Prior to joining PIGGS, she was a member of the underground idol group PM3:58. She was a member of NARLOW from 2023 to 2025.
As such, she has been a member of two different groups produced by founding members of BiS' First Generation. In addition, three of the idol groups that she has joined so far has included at least one BiS member as her groupmate and another one on the production team.
Biography[]
2019[]
Umi's idol career started in January 2019, when she joined the group PM3:58 as a founding member. She graduated from the group following its disbandment in November of the same year.
2020[]
UMI was revealed as a founding member of PIGGS on April 19th, 2020, after having passed the first round of auditions. Her debut album, HALLO PIGGS, was released on July 1st.
2021[]
On March 26th, UMI went on hiatus from PIGGS, as a fitness challenge performed by the group, MUSCLE PIGGS, aggravated a long-term injury she was recovering from. On April 13th, PIGGS announced that UMI would not be returning, as she disagreed with the direction of the group. UMI's only single with PIGGS, T.A.K.O, will be released a week later.
Soon after leaving PIGGS, UMI auditioned for Ichigo Rinahamu's new group. She was able to pass the training camp stage, and as such, was revealed as a member of HO6LA on August 18th. Upon joining HO6LA, she changed her stage name to Hachimitsu Umi.
Hachimitsu Umi's first single with HO6LA, Pirikarira, was released on October 26th.
2022[]
Hachimitsu Umi's first album with HO6LA, Sono Ichi, was released on June 15th.
After just over a year of activities, HO6LA ultimately disbanded on September 12th. Her final album with the unit, HO6LA, was released the following night.
2023[]
In Spring 2023, Umi auditioned for NARLOW, a unit featuring her ex-HO6LA groupmate, Pan Luna Leafy. On May 15th, it was revealed that Umi would be joining the group, and she changed her stage name once again to Yamashita Umi.
2025[]
On February 15th, NARLOW disbanded. In October, it was announced Umi would be a founding member of idol group log you, set to debut in November.
