豆柴の大群「MUST CHANGE」MUSiC ViDEO
MUST CHANGE is MAMESHiBA NO TAiGUN's fourth major single, released on December 7th, 2022. Released as part of their "MUST CHANGE" campaign, alongside a live tour and new member audition, it will be their final single with the line-up that had been in place since just after their 2019 formation.
The single will be released in seven editions; A limited edition (with blu-ray and photobook), a Kid's CD edition, and five solo CD editions, one for each member of the group.
It is the final release to feature Kaedephoenix, who announced her graduation shortly before its release.
MUST CHANGE Project[]
As part of the "MUST CHANGE" campaign, the solo CDs also brought a challenge; the member whose individual CD sold the most copies on release week would earn a solo debut as a reward. However, members whose CDs sold poorly would be required to take part in the new member audition. If they do not improve during that time, they will be fired and replaced with a new member.
On December 10th, the final results of the popularity contest of the campaign was revealed as:
- Nao Of Nao (5,786pt )
- Miyukiangel (5,228pt)
- Kaedephoenix (5,020pt)
- Hanaemonster (4,835pt)
- Aika The Spy (4,737pt)
As she had ranked 1st place, this meant that Nao Of Nao had won the challenge and would recieve a solo debut sometime in the near future. However, due to ranking last, Aika The Spy would be required to participate in the audition camp taking place the following day and was at risk of losing her job.
The new member audition camp, MAMESHiBA NO TAiGUN Nari no Gasshuku, began the very next day, from December 11th to 14th. During the first day of the audition, the reason for the MUST CHANGE challenge was explained by Watanabe; he came up with the idea in response to repeated incidents of unprofessional behaviour from the members, as a means of pressuring them to take their jobs more seriously. The song was also used in elimination redemption challenges during the audition camp.
