Kato Koban (加藤小判) refers to the various vocalists for this is not a business.

There are at least three known Kato Kobans, only one of whom has had his identity revealed (the "original" Kato Koban, Watanabe Junnosuke).

Biography

This is not a business was formed in March 2013, with the "original" Kato Koban as their vocalist. While all members of the band had their faces obscured by tengu masks, Koban was easy to distinguish from the rest thanks to his red hat and glasses over the top of his mask. This appearance would be replicated across all future Kato Kobans, making them difficult to tell apart without comparing their voices.

Soon after the release of their first song, WITH A MISSION, the original Kato Koban left and was quickly replaced by a second Kato Koban, who debuted in their second song, REDorBLACK.

Kato Koban withdrew from this is not a business on June 29th, 2015, citing "creative differences" as the reason for his departure. The following day, the band's manager, Watanabe Junnosuke, appeared on stage and declared that he was the original Kato Koban, with the previous being the "second-generation Kato Koban". He subsequently took over as the band's vocalist, while auditions were held for a permanent replacement.

On September 7th, an unknown vocalist took over the role of the "third-generation Kato Koban" until their disbandment on November 24th.
