Idol Cannonball refers to a series of collaborative documentaries between WACK and adult video company HMJM (ハマジム; Hamajim). Films in this series typically feature either Company Matsuo or Elizabeth Miyaji as directors. Films in the Idol Cannonball are usually based around either an audition or disbandment.
The name "Cannonball" is a reference to HMJM's cult pornographic franchise, "The Sex Cannonball Run", in which adult film stars and actors engage in a cross-country race, with points are added if the competitors engage in sexual intercourse. Documentaries in the Idol Cannonball series also frequently follow a similar concept, in which HMJM staff attempt to seduce WACK idols while also documenting the events taking place around them.
