DEAD or A LiME is BiS's thirteenth major single, and the first with the third generation lineup. It was announced on September 28th, 2019, and released on November 20th.

The single came with various first-press benefits, depending on where it was purchased; The Tower Records release included B2 poster of a random member. The HMV release included a wristband. Rakuten Books and Seven Net Shopping releases included a B2 poster and the Amazon release included an A2 clear file.
From October 19th to November 17th, BiS toured every Tower Records branch in Japan, where fans could take photos with the members if they pre-ordered the single.
On November 12th, DEAD or A LiME's B-side, "Telephone", was uploaded for free online.
