Following the announcement of [[Side: Nicamoq|Nicamoq]]'s withdrawal from BPM15Q in December 2016, surviving member Ichigo Rinahamu announced that she would continue the unit under a new name and line-up. Auditions for new members were announced, and the rebranded form of BPM15Q was given the name, "CY8ER", on December 24th. Koinumaru Pochi and Suzukawa Mashiro were eventually added in January 2017, and CY8ER's debut single, [[Remix Start]], was released on March 18th. They released one more single as a trio, [[Te to Te]], a month later on April 18th.
