CY8ER was a Japanese "new age vocal & DJ unit." formed by ex-BiS member Yokoyama Rina (under the name "Ichigo Rinahamu") in late 2016. The group was conceived as a continuation of the unit BPM15Q, who ceased activities in December that year. Ichigo Rinahamu was the producer of the group, and they were active from 2017 until their disbandment in 2021.

CY8ER's musical genre is commonly described as a mix of Future Bass and Drum & Bass, both subgenres of EDM.

Disbandment of BPM15Q and revival as CY8ER, 2017[]

Following the announcement of Nicamoq's withdrawal from BPM15Q in December 2016, surviving member Ichigo Rinahamu announced that she would continue the unit under a new name and line-up. Auditions for new members were announced, and the rebranded form of BPM15Q was given the name, "CY8ER", on December 24th. Koinumaru Pochi and Suzukawa Mashiro were eventually added in January 2017, and CY8ER's debut single, Remix Start, was released on March 18th. They released one more single as a trio, Te to Te, a month later on April 18th.

On April 25th, just a week after the release of Te to Te, CY8ER announced through a video posted on their YouTube channel that three additional girls would join the group; Yamiyume yAmmy, Naatan Coromushi and Fujishiro Anna (formerly of Bellring Girls Heart and Ice Cream Suicide).

CY8ER's first single with six members, Kakusheemu, was released on June 28th. They also held their first one-man tour, CY8ER LUCID DREAMING TOUR in 2017 with a total of 3 venues, the final taking place in Osaka.

In summer of 2017 CY8ER also entered the Idol Matsuri competition, winning 1st place for the Kanto-A block.

2018[]

On January 31, 2018, CY8ER's first album, Hello New Generation, was released.

On March 5, Naatan Coromushi suddenly withdrew from CY8ER.

CY8ER released a DVD, of their LUCID DREAMING TOUR -Kakusei Yume- at LIQUIDROOM performance on May 18.

CY8ER released their first release with five members, the digital single Bye Bye, on July 28.

Throughout 2018 and 2019, CY8ER frequently promoted and modeled for the Galaxxxy fashion brand.

On January 22, 2019, CY8ER were announced as the official supporters of the Honolulu Rainbow EKIDEN 2019 which will take place on March 10 at Kapiolani Park, Hawaii. This would be their first performance in the USA.

In February, CY8ER announced that they would release one single every month for three months. The first of these singles, Dead Boy Dead Girl, was released in February, followed by Time Trip and Summer / Sayonara Flashback in March and April.

Major Label and Disbandment, 2019-2021[]

On October 18, CY8ER also held a free "emergency" live where a serious announcement would be made about their future. At the event, CY8ER announced that they would have their major label debut in January 2020, with the album, Tokyo. That same month, they also launched their official fashion brand, CY8ER TOKYO, selling jackets in each of the members' respective image colours.

On July 18, CY8ER announced via a livestream that they would disband at Nippon Budokan in January 2021. Their final release, a self-titled best-of album, was released on December 16.

CY8ER disbanded on January 10, 2021 at a performance titled CY8ER Nari no Yokohama Arena at Nippon Budokan. During this live, they released one last single, End Roll.

Post-Disbandment[]

Following a successful crowdfunding campaign, a blu-ray recording of their farewell concert was released on March 17.

Soon after CY8ER's disbandment, Fujishiro Anna announced that she had formed a band, wachowski. Mashilo has continued her SHACHI solo project, which was concurrently active alongside her activities in CY8ER. All members of the final line-up remain active on social media, and occasionally partake in joint events together.

Over a year after CY8ER's disbandment, their original form, BPM15Q, announced their reformation.
